The voice over community is just that -- a true community, and one filled with genuine warmth and support for one another.
We have enjoyed getting to know some wonderfully talented and generous souls during the making of this project. We thought you might like getting acquainted with them as well.

Liz was one of the first to volunteer at Hear the Bill, and has been an enthusiastic and tireless advocate for the site. She is a very busy multi-lingual voice talent, and active in many professional and community organizations, so we are so fortunate that she was willing and able to find the time to lend her voice to this project.
What other types of volunteer work have you done?
As a family caregiver to both my parents - to my dad who had Alzheimer's and passed away in 2006, and to my mother who had a stroke in 1994 and has been wheelchair bound ever since - I have been very involved with the National Family Caregivers Association (http://www.TheFamilyCaregiver.org). I am a member of their Caregivers Community Action Network, and have recorded their Radio PSA's in support of November being Family Caregivers Month. It's a cause that's close to my heart and I'm proud to get the word out about all the work that family caregivers do. What's interesting is that this ties in so well with this "Hear The Bill" project because so much of what family caregivers have to deal with has to do with the healthcare industry, insurance companies, and what is and isn't covered.
How long have you been doing voice over work? Full or part time?
I have been "in the industry" since 1989, when I started in Radio as a copywriter and Production Director at a small market radio station. While I was there I ended up voicing many of the commercials that I wrote so that's really when I fell in love with voiceover. I then went on to work at a corporate recording studio and was "behind the glass" directing some of the best talent in the NY/NJ area. They taught me what it was to be a voice talent by their professionalism and their great talent. I also honed my ear to really understand what it was that a script was supposed to sound like. After being downsized in 2005 I decided to strike out on my own as a full-time voice talent and have never looked back. Working in my own studio and being in front of the mic everyday is what I was meant to do!
What is your most memorable VO moment?
That's easy! A 10 hour voiceover session! Yes, 10 hours! It was a French voiceover session that was done with me in a studio here in NJ and I was connected via ISDN to a studio in San Diego. The client was making changes to the script as we were going along, so it took just "a bit" longer than expected. But I kept drinking my herbal tea (that I always have a stash of in my bag!) and my voice held to the end. Everyone was great to work with, so it was fun!
What is the best thing about being involved with Hearthebill?
The best thing about this project is how quickly so many voice talent got together to get the audio recorded. No matter what our individual feelings about the bill itself, we all realized the importance of getting the information out for people to hear. This project is truly a team effort...with our fearless leaders Kat & Diane at the helm!
How do you envision its future?
Wow. That's a tough one. There are so many bills out there that seem to be hidden behind closed doors...it would be great to get all that information out in a way that people can digest it more easily. I'm ready to lend my voice to whatever is planned!
