Hear The Bill
We Read...You Listen...We ALL Decide
Meet Curt Palmer
The voice over community is just that -- a true community, and one filled with genuine warmth and support for one another.

We have enjoyed getting to know some wonderfully talented and generous souls during the making of this project. We thought you might like getting acquainted with them as well.

Curt has spent nearly 26 years in employee benefits, insurance and healthcare, and now has taken the opportunity to pursue a career in VO. Now Curt has combined his new passion for voice over with something he’s devoted so many years to -- healthcare. No stranger to volunteer work, Curt has proved his considerable generosity and his dedication to the project time and time again, by offering to do whatever needs doing to make our site a success. He’s done it all.

How long have you been doing voice over work? Full or part time?

I’m relatively new to voice acting, having been involved for less than a year.  Right now, it’s part time, but my clear goal is to make it my life’s work!

What is your most memorable VO moment?

My most memorable VO moment was just recently when I was asked to be on a TV show to discuss my Hear the Bill work!

What other types of volunteer work have you done?

Along with coaching my kids’ hockey and baseball teams, I also volunteer as a host of a special radio program for the blind and handicapped here in Connecticut.  It’s called the CT Radio and Information System (www.crisradio.org) and I do the sports and co-host the Front Pages program where we read the top stories from the New York Times and Hartford Courant for people who can’t otherwise read the papers themselves.  I also help as a cameraman for my local public access TV station.

What is the best thing about being involved with Hear the Bill? How do you envision its future?

The collaborative spirit of the voice actors.  That 80 or so people can, without being paid, spend the time and effort it took to record, edit and produce 1,000+ pages of text is a testament to the culture of the voice acting community.  It’s so rewarding to work with such a great group of people.
